The Butter Braid® brand is all about family. Through our pastries, we celebrate togetherness and support future generations of hungry dream-chasers. Years ago, we began baking pastries in our kitchen to bring in extra money for our family. What started as a side job grew and grew, from farmers markets to retail stores, from mixing bowls to industrial-sized mixers, from home kitchens to renovated buildings. What started as love for family and love of baking grew to become the Butter Braid brand. And after years of selling our pastries in stores around town, a suggestion to offer Butter Braid pastries for a fundraiser inspired us to look at ways we could share the good. Today, Butter Braid pastries are available exclusively through fundraisers, so with each purchase, you’re getting a tasty treat and supporting a loved one. Braided by hand, each Butter Braid pastry is a symbol of the dedication we have to our family, our love of gathering around the table and our hope that others will reach their goals. We offer 10 flavors: Apple, Blueberry Cream, Bavarian Creme, Caramel Rolls, Cherry, Cinnamon, Cream Cheese, Cinnamon Rolls, Four Cheese & Herb, and Strawberry Cream Cheese.
Pantries have told us they can feed a family of 3 for a week on a $30 donation. Our goal is to sell at least 10,000 items and raise at least $115,000. Please select the Get Started button to select a location and time to begin the process to buy some Butter Braid Pastries ® and support Feed NWI!
Lake, Porter, LaPorte, Newton, Jasper, Starke & Pulaski Counties will all be included in this project.
During this time, many or our fellow community members are finding it necessary to rely on food pantries in volumes not seen in recent history. We have designed this project to bring people together and support the local needs of people hit the hardest by our current environment. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, 56 thousand people across NWI have applied for Unemployment, which is causing a great strain on our local food pantries ~ we want to HELP!
As the COVID-19 situation has impacted our Northwest Indiana communities many of us are asking ourselves ‘How can I help those in most need?’ While we are all affected by this pandemic, many are affecting in devastating ways as they or loved ones battle illness and unemployment. In the seven county Northwest Indiana Region, over 56,000 people have filed unemployment claims in March and April 2020*. Local food banks and pantries have told us they have seen the needs coming to their doors growing exponentially. Seeing this need we – as a group of independent business leaders, team members, professionals, and concerned citizens have banded together in an all-volunteer, grassroots fundraiser to bring funds and food to the organizations that support our fellow community members most impacted at this time of great need!
